So far, so good.

Finished the install today. Consistent with other GMT900 guys, up until the VCIM part. Not sure if mine differs (being a Denali), but I removed the Onstar connector from the VCIM and attached it to the Bluestar. Both the VCIM (with another data connector and two antenna connections) and Bluestar are in place behind the HVAC controls.
Functionality seems great, although I am seeing a 'No GPS sync' icon on the nav display. Too early to tell if it's an actual issue, but just in case...I'm not putting back the surround bezel trim piece just yet. :)

Okay, lots of playing (err, "testing"!) overnight. GPS sync is happy again, and the Bluestar seems great overall. Two questions...
1. Even after turning off the truck and opening the driver's door, the connection doesn't power down. RVM light still shines 'green' and remains in this state for quite a while. How do I know, you might ask? Because I tried to answer a call directly on my phone while in my garage, and couldn't. Anyone else experience this, and if so, is there a workaround?
2. Functionality w/ iPhone. The first call I make with the system is awesome. The second - and subsequent - attempt...not so much. The 'Onstar' icon shines on the display and the call connects, but there's no audio..anywhere. Just silence (and mic mute) from the vehicle system, and no successful means of transferring to the phone directly. This is a big problem, obviously. Am I doing something wrong? Pushing the 'phone' button generates a loud beep, but nothing else. Pushing the 'onstar' button disconnects the call. Anything else I should be trying? Thanks in advance for any help on this one...

The BlueSTAR will turn on as the car 'wakes up' (meaning door is unlocked, opened, or whatever), and will go to sleep when the car does, ehich could be a few seconds after the car is turned off and the door is opened and closed. This keeps you on a call should you be sitting there. You can transfer it to the phone by holding white button for 3-4 seconds. Pressing Blue will end the call.
Regarding the iPhone, try and upgrade to version 3.0 it has improved bluetooth controls.
Thanks, and glad its working for you!

My Samsung U540 keeps dropping every call after the first ring. At first, I thought I had a problem with the BlueStar. Then I switched to my wifes Motorola W385 and it works fine. The Samsung is supposed to support HFP (hands free profile). I also noted that the Samsung generated more static over the speakers than the Moto which was very clear.

Just installed a GMLAN unit in my 2008 Colorado, tookm longer to decide how to mount the unit than it did to connect the unit, sync the Motorola Q9M to the HF850, and test that it worked. It worked right out of the box, first time, and am very happy with the performance. Couldn't be happier!

Once the Motorola Q9m cell phone was synced with the Motorola HF850 installed on my 2008 Colorado all I need to do to make or receive a phone call is tap the OnStar button and then the Motorola Voice Commands take over and all calls can be made by using voice commands. Works great!!!

Well, I got no help from anyone so traced my onstar antenna wire and took apart my interior and found the module. The Onstar module is between the seats, below the dual cup holders. Also, you have to use the the wire and splice supplied. Hopes this will help someone in the future. Don't know why no one wants to advise where this is at. Thanks for nothing.

It might be that you are the first one in a SKY to do this. Unfortunately, someone has to be first. But you did it, and thanks to you, the next guy should have an easier go with it. So be proud of yourself, as you are probably the only 2008 SKY with this unique feature!
Thanks again for posting.

Did you find that you had the GMLAN Onstar module in the car, and did you have to move any wires or was it just unplug one and plug in the other? Why the bubble wrap in the photo?
